Patrick Kenzo is originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In 2018, he was forced to flee his home country due to extreme persecution towards his family. He came to Kakuma with his wife and 4 children and they have lived there for the past 6 years. He has degree in teaching, theology, and sociology, and has spent a lot of his time in Kakuma volunteering as a teacher in different schools and organizations.
Need
Hygiene is a huge need in the Kakuma Refugee Camp. Soap products are essential to combatting the spread of germs and disease through the camp as well as for basic personal hygiene needs. KSE Enterprises makes high-quality, affordable soap that allows refugees to maintain clean households and limit the spread of germs. He also provides training where he teaches others how to make soap in order to foster self-reliance.
Use
Patrick’s business is already started, but he needs additional funds to buy more soap molds and other equipment to increase his production capacity. With this loan amount, he will be able to afford many more soap molds and all the equipment he needs to meed the demand for his products.
