For $120, you send a refugee in Kakuma through a full 12-week business training program — and connect them with an American Rotary Club ready to fund their dream.

Entrapov isn't a workshop. It's a complete transformation. Over 12 weeks, refugee entrepreneurs in Kakuma learn how to build, run, and pitch a real business. They work through a structured curriculum, complete assignments reviewed by a local Rotarian supervisor living in their community, and finish the program by writing a full business plan and pitching live to an American Rotary Club that is ready to invest.

The club doesn't just write a check — they become partners. Monthly updates, photos, and videos keep them connected as the business grows. A friendship is built across continents.

Your $120 covers everything:

  • 📋 A trained teacher and local Rotarian supervisor
  • 📚 Printed learning materials for all 12 sessions
  • 💻 Access to technology and internet
  • 🏫 A dedicated classroom space for the full program
  • 🎤 A live pitch event with a Rotary Club sponsor ready to fund

The participant pays nothing.

Graduates leave with a vetted business plan, real pitching experience, and a funded path forward — many going on to access Maak Impact's micro-loan program to launch their business for real.

One scholarship. 12 weeks. A business owner for life.

$120 buys someone knowledge, a network, and a shot at building something of their own — from one of the hardest places on earth to do it.

Refugee entrepreneurs need more than capital, they need the skills to build something that lasts. That is why we partner with Entrapov to give entrepreneurs in Kakuma access to world-class business training.

What is Entrapov?

Entrapov is an entrepreneurship training program that teaches refugee entrepreneurs the core skills needed to start, manage, and grow a real business. The 12-week course covers business planning, financial management, marketing, and leadership — delivered through a mix of virtual classes and in-person support inside Kakuma.

How does Maak Impact work with Entrapov?

Maak Impact identifies promising entrepreneurs in Kakuma and sponsors their enrollment in Entrapov's program. Our team inside the camp provides weekly in-person support to keep students on track, accountable, and applying what they learn. Graduates are then connected to funding opportunities through Maak Impact's loan programs.

Why does training come before funding?

Capital without knowledge is a short-term fix. Entrepreneurs who complete Entrapov's program before receiving a loan have stronger businesses, better repayment rates, and a clearer path to growth. Training is how we make sure every dollar we lend goes further.

  • Vetted entrepreneurs
